A: Yes, our trainer is an AST (authorized SCA trainer), professional in SCA Barista Skills and Roasting Skills.
Q: I have a machine at home and have been making coffee for a while now and would like to improve my skills, is this class suitable for me?
A: Yes, the course would be able to provide more value to your coffee making journey. However, do reach out to us to confirm if this course is what you're seeking.
Q: How many people will there be in the class?
A: The class will start with 1 pax up to a maximum of 3 pax per class. If you'd like to have more than 3 pax in the class, do reach out to us for further help.
Q: What is SCA?
A: SCA is an acronym for Specialty Coffee Association, it is the governing body for Specialty Coffee by providing coffee education, barista skills and setting standards for coffee making worldwide.
Q: After completion of the course, will this certificate be able to help me get a job in a cafe?
A: This certificate does not guarantee you a job anywhere, it will depend on the employer if they are willing to hire. The certificate only indicates that you have the relevant knowledge of coffee making.
Q: What is the duration of the course?
A: The course will include 4 classes, practice sessions, 3 practical examinations and an online written exam.
Q: Will the course be on weekdays or weekends?
A: We can arrange the class on both weekdays and weekends. Do reach out to us to confirm the schedule.
Q: Are all training materials provided for the class?
A: Yes, all training materials for the class will be provided. Students may only need to bring milk if any additional practice sessions are required.
Q: What language will the class be taught in?
A: English will be the main language used for class but our trainers are able to speak in both Malay and Mandarin as well.
Q: Is this a physical or online class?
A: We currently only provide physical face to face classes at our location. No online classes available.
Q: I have no experience in making coffee, would this class be suitable for me?
A: No, for SCA - Intermediate, minimal experience in coffee making is required. For non-experienced, we suggest taking our Barista Skills Foundation Class first.
