Every month, we do have students graduate from barista course, and majority 90% of our students do not possess their own coffee machines, yet they want to continue to sharpen their skills, hence, they start serving at our weekend coffee bar to have more practical experience, he bar is fully operated by our graduated students.
Located at level 2 (open space) Kedai KL, MAHSA Avenue.
Recently our senior barista trainer Dennis Hew has attended SCA intermediate and professional barista certifications, but not only those exams, but he also attended Latte Art Grading System's (LAGS) exam to obtain up to green jug status, and soon he will become an examiner to examine others as well, stay tuned!
This is one of the most commonly asked questions, but learning latte art is similar to learning musical instruments such as guitar, piano, and etc.
It is a routine, we do not ask the piano teacher how many songs we can master in a class, instead, we expect some technique and skill learning to lead to a certain level of song playing. Quantity doesn't matter, quality does in this case.
For experience sake, we usually teach students with the basic heart and tulip designs, but occasionally there are students without experience who would ask, "How many classes will it take to master a Rosetta?" Our simple answer is "We don't count by days, we go by years. How many years do you want to dedicate to this?"
One should not possess the mindset that attending just one session of the workshop would mean that one would be able to fly, and no, we do not have a "cheat code" for students. We recommend the right path which is to dedicate your time to coffee, and then the student shall be rewarded greatly with knowledge and skills related to coffee.
We appreciate the advancement of technology in the coffee industry as evidenced with the espresso machines that we currently own. We have 3 classrooms located at Kedai KL, MAHSA Avenue. There are various espresso machines provided in each classroom for teaching and learning purposes, including:
The main reason we have different models is so that our students would get to explore and make their coffee with machines that vary in specifications. We would beam with pride to have our students spreading the knowledge they obtained from the classes to their loved ones.
